Friday Fun Pt 1 Dark Chocolate Brownies with Sea Salt

My Blogging Hero

Amy Clark’s is, hands down, one of the best mom blogs on the net. Last year she debuted a recipe for dark chocolate brownies that is sure to be a household hit. (See bottom of page.) I have, very respectfully, tweaked her recipe for this week’s Friday Fun. My salute to my blogging hero nods a little more to the health conscious line and probably more to the adult palette, too. See what you think.

Dark Chocolate Brownies with Sea SaltAmy’s Brownies

My Dark Chocolate Brownies with Sea Salt:

1+  1/2 sticks unsalted butter

2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened dark cocoa

1+1/2 cups sugar

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup whole wheat pastry flour

1/4 cup dried cherries (I’m also desperately curious to see what dried blueberries would be like in this.)

1/2 teaspoon instant coffee

3/4 teaspoon sea salt

  1. Awesome idea – I loved salted sweetness, it’s so delicious.
